March 1st is World Maths Day. What is that, you ask? World Maths Day is an online mental arithmetic game. From the World Maths Day website:
World Maths Day was originally created for students aged 4 – 18 years, but this year and adult’s age category (19 – 119 years) has been added, although the adults are not eligible for prizes. Read more at the World Maths Day website and register before March 1. The site also provides practice games which can be accessed before March 1. By registering, you are automatically registered for World Spelling Day on March 3. Have fun! Today (February 18) begins the 2011 Great Backyard Bird Count, which continues through Monday, February 21. It’s not too late to sign up and begin today! You can count for as little as 15 minutes or keep track all day long.
