Barnes and Noble Educator Appreciation Week begins 10-09-10

Homeschooling parents will be happy to learn that Barnes & Noble will hold their Fall Educator Appreciation week this year from October 9th to October 17th, 2010. Stores across the country will host special events and workshops to mark the week. Check with your local store for their schedule of events. (Click here to find your local store.)

Discounts are offered to preK-12 educators (that includes homeschoolers). You can save up to 25% on personal and classroom purchases and 10% on DVDS and music. Educators must present a valid Barnes & Noble Educators Discount card to receive the discounts. Homeschoolers can get one of these cards by presenting proof of homeschool status. Since each state has different laws, check with your local support group to see what is needed in your state. Often an ID card from a support group does the trick. When we homeschooled in Alabama, our church school provided ID cards.

If you can’t make it to your local store, Educator Appreciation Week will also be held online at Barnes and Noble.
