In addition, Saturday, April 24 is National Junior Ranger Day. Kid-friendly activities will be held, along with the chance for children to earn a junior ranger patch.
Earth Day is April 22 and many national parks are hosting special events and volunteer projects. Check out the National Park Service site for more information!

I haven’t been reading much lately because I’ve been incommunicado for a while, but I’m back to it, I think. Time dependent upon the move we’re making. Anyway… I wanted to thank you for the info on the free admission. I couldn’t do it this year b/c of business, but hope you’ll share it again and I may be able to next year! I really love the idea behind the name of your blog AND the picture at the top. What a great way of presenting homeschoolers and the idea(s) of homeschooling. ^_^
Have you heard of a writing contest for homeschooling kiddos that is focused more on entires than winning for writing? I found one recently and wanted to share it with you, in case you’re interested for your own kiddos and/or sharing abroad.
I love the idea because, as an aspiring author, I’ve read in any number of places that the more a writer submits their work, the more likely they are to be published. And what better way to build excitement in kids to submit their work than a prize for the nubmer of times they DO!?? I love the idea. I hope you do, too!
